Being associated with the O Driscoll Clan Gathering since 1986, Cape Clear Island Museum celebrated the Clan’s 25th Anniversary by mounting the O Driscoll Heritage Exhibition at the Island Museum. Arising from the publication in 2005 of O Driscolls, Past and Present by Éamon Lankford, a large volume of O Driscoll related documentation came to be donated by members of the international extended O Driscoll family. This and many family submissions from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, France, New Zealand and Germany, and documentation relating to former Clan Gatherings, O Driscoll authors, poets, broadcasters, religious, sports personalities and many others were sourced for the exhibition. The collected material provided a wealth of information for the Anniversary Exhibition. The high point of the exhibition was the unveiling by Bernadette O Driscoll of Baltimore of the Ó Drisceoil plaque, celebrating O Driscoll Worldwide Heritage. The donation of O Driscoll related memorabilia and documentation is invited for future O Driscoll Heritage Exhibitions.
You can help the voluntary O Driscoll Memorial Archive to preserve O Driscoll heritage by writing an account of your O Driscoll heritage, or help us to source and copy articles in newspapers, books and journals about or by Driscolls/Driskills in any period worldwide.
